Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and picking a perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your group select trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. FUN AND SUN IN 801 Ocean Views, Resort Amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
