Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Waterpark View - Kitchenette - 2 Seperate Beds has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
