Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Paradise Found! Oceanview Suite - Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
