Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.

- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback.
