Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Gorgeous 2 Bedroom Condo in Legends Golf Community has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
