Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Gorgeous and Relaxing 3 Bedroom, site 8040, Ocean Lakes Family Campground!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
