Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Gorgeous Ocean Views! Ocean Front Queen Suite! Sleeps 4! Sea Mist 20901 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
