Strategies to get the very best rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Dunes Villas #34, stay close to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
