How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Gorgeous Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo! Sleeps 10 Guests! Compass Cove Mariner Tower 1217 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
