Strategies to get the best rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Luxury Four Bedroom Condo 4th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
