Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Oceanfront Suite! 1Br Condo\/ Dog friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
