Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Enclave by Hilton Grand Vacations - 2 Bedroom Ocean Front has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
