Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To start, have your group select dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. GORGEOUS VIEW OCEANFRONT CONDO W\/HUGE SUNDECK BALCONY ON GOLDEN MILE has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
