New for 2023, new central AC unit and wall to wall carpeting throughout the home. Clean, fresh and up to date. Includes wifi and central AC, some places do not...Recently painted [2021]the entire inside. New appliances, new furnishings, new linens. The golf cart has a new motor, batteries and tires. The place is ready for visitors. ALWAYS INCLUDES GOLF CART. We purchased this property in 2002 as a place to take the kids each summer. My husband and I savor the local eateries and shopping. The kids appreciate the beach, pool and campground recreational activities. The campground has activities for all ages and it is great family fun. We continue to appreciate our home away from home and now share it with many repeat renters. We include the golf cart with the home, because everybody knows you gotta have one when you're at Ocean Lakes!
2021 update: We've removed a double bed from the master bedroom and replaced it with a desk/vanity. The master suite is much more cavernous as a result. We've also added a new couch and recliner, not yet pictured.
We recommend our place for 2 or 3 adults plus kids. We don't recommend 4 adults plus kids.

Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Gotta have a golf cart and wifi ~ always included. Next availability in August. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
