Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Grand 2-Bedroom Condo in Myrtle Beach! Sleeps 8! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
