Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Winter Deals! Great Oceanview @ Prime Loc Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review.
