Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Great Oceanview Suite @ Prime Loc, Dogs are OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
