How to get the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To book the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Great Oceanview @ Prime Loc Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
