Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights™ - 2 Bedroom Combined has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
