Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Harbour Lights Resort
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
