Our top Rental property booking tips:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights, South Carolina, 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
