Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Harbour Lights, South Carolina, 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
