Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront Condo with Reduced Rates! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
