Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Hermoso Amanecer by Casanita
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
