Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Hole In One Experience At River Oaks I has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
