How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Holiday Pavilion Resort on the Boardwalk - Full access to ALL amenities!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
