Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Incredible Oceanfront View Condo 1bd\/1ba has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
