Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Winter Rates! Upscale Oceanview 1Br Dog Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
