Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Site 1114 Only steps from the Ocean, 2 King beds has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
