Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Third Floor 2 Bedroom Condo-Golf Course Views! Magnolia Place 301 - Sleeps 6 guests! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
