How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. New King Honeymoon Monterey Bay,Modern Decor,Pools has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
