Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stunning Double Queen Suite With LED Fireplace! Caravelle 610 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
