Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Stunning Double Queen Suite With LED Fireplace! Caravelle 610 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, contact the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
