Getting the best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
