Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
