Our top Rental property booking tips:
Finding your best deal:
- To book the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Magnolia Pointe Luster Leaf 4825-301 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
