Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
