Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Large Family Friendly Condo - Steps to the Beach! Close to Attractions! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
