Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Large Oceanfront Three Bedroom Two Bath Condo at Carolina Dunes! (5th Floor) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
