How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. FAMILY FAVORITE!! NEW! Booking for Summer 2025 NOW! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
