Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing yourvacation home:
- Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. On sand oceanfront for 10 people, location, location! 3bd\/3bth has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
