How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Legends Golf Resort - 2 Bedroom on ground floor, Wi-Fi included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
