Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- To start, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Legends Golf Resort - 2 Bedroom on ground floor, Wi-Fi included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
