Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Lodge Villa 1 Bedroom in a 57 Acre Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
