Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Lodge Villa 1 Bedroom in a 57 Acre Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
