Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxurious Haven, Oceanview Suite has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
