Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Captivating Oceanfront Three Bedroom: 8th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
