Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family select dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Luxury`House in the Sky Ocean View 3 Balconies has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
