How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking yourrental:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront Studio w large oceanfront balcony - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
