Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 5th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, WiFi & AC - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
