Getting the best vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Madeline's Mermaid Beach Getaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
