Finding the best rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking yourvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. New for June 2023 All New!! Taking Reservations Now w\/Great Rates! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
