Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Newly updated two bedroom condo in Myrtlewood has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
