Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Magnolia North Unit 104 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
