Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. *OceanFront* Modern 2\/2, Breathtaking Views, Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
