Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Magnolia Point Unit 201 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
