Vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Magnolia Point Unit 201 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
