Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Front - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
