Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Front - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
